Liam Calder was a young man born and brought up in the Borders. At the age of 29, he took his own life. Shortly before this, he penned a note in which he expressed a need for the church to be mindful of the young people of Berwickshire. Liam's family and friends began this fund in his memory and BCYT administers it with a view to creating opportunites for Liam's hopes to be realised. |
BCYT has set up a "camp sponsorship fund" through the Liam Calder fund to enable young people whose families may be under financial constraints to attend a BCYT or Scripture Union residential event at reduced or minimal costs. A gift of £20 could make a big difference!
